June 1st we closed on the house and that afternoon we got the keys. My parents drove up to pick up the kids so we could get the household goods on June 2nd. On June 3rd my parents came back with the mini van loaded with tools to build shelves in closets. Jared and his cousin Tyler came to help, but the other 3 kids stayed with my brother and sisters in Gilbert. We spent the next four days building shelves in closets, so we could finish unpacking. I love my pantry shelves and shelves in all the closets. Thanks Dad and Kyle! My brother Dave and his family came up Saturday with all the kids. It is so great having family closer!
Since arriving in Prescott we have been keeping busy getting settled and jumping into activities. Caleb attended Cub Scout Camp . Caleb has also done a summer reading and math camp at his elementary school. Lindsay loves swim lessons and Jared and Colton are enjoying swim team at the Y. Kyle started work after our week of unpacking and building shelves. Kyle is teaching the 14-15 sunday school class and I have been called as Cub Bear Leader and primary sub teacher.
Jared and Lindsay are sporting the cute cowboy hats they made at the Prescott Library. The local library is awesome. We go 1-3 times a week to attend the different activities they have. The weekly afternoon craft time is my kids favorite! These hats show our love for Las Vegas bling bling! We also love the weekly movie at the park night.
This is Granite Mountain just out our back door. Prescott has many qualities that remind us of Alaska and Eagle River. Awsome hiking and biking trails. Beautiful mountains and lots of trees. Many lakes to kayak, canoe and fish (However, we went fishing at cub day camp, and it doesn't compare to AK fishing) I'm looking forward to completing some of the home improvement projects so we can play and enjoy some trails this summer.

I love your new home!!!!
What a beautiful place! Ugh- when I just read
all that recreational stuff U have there, it makes
me so want to move! It was heart breaking
to say good-bye to you! You are such a
good example to me! You will always inspire
me even if u live in AZ. Big Hugs-April
You have a beautiful home and a beautiful family. It's great to hear from you. You can link to our blog through my name. I was doing great at trying to do something "blogworthy" everyday until the end of school hit with a vengeance. I'm trying to get back to it, but we'll be goign out of town on Wednesday. I look forward to seeing your updates!
It's so beautiful! I look forward to keeping up with all the fun stuff you are guys are doing!
Thanks for sending a link to your blog! We miss you guys so much. Carter is going through withdrawals from his best neighborhood buddies. Its been a little hard for him, but he's handling it well. Your house is amazing....we love it!
Your kids are huge! Your new is is gorgeous and I can't believe you've actually unpack all 270 boxes. We usually have 10 or so that we never unpack and just move from house to house. I've sent you an invite to our blog as well. How does it feel to be "settled"? Scott's worried that if we get out of the AF, I'm still going to want to move every few years.
Yeah for Arizona! Shawna and I had breakfast Friday (ok, Chris came too) and decided we'll need a drive to Prescott soon. We are glad you are closer--and the house looks so great!
It sounds like things are going great! Your house is beautiful. I am so happy for you.
Cub Scouts?! You are going to rock that calling! Your new home is beautiful and I love the view of the mountains in the backyard. (Watch out for wild pigs!) I am so glad you have a blog. Talk to you soon.
you got the house!!! I hadn't heard. awesome! see you soon!
I wasn't trying to be philosophical-that should have read "your new house is" and not "your new is is".
WOW! Beautiful home!! It definately reminds me of Alaska. Congrats to your family. We hope you love Prescott.
Glad to hear you are doing well and we can keep in touch with you guys. We miss you VERY MUCH! Kari and family
